Blue Golden Program
'Amazolou' Cats & Kittens
Since importing RW CH Insider Constantin the colour 'Blue-Golden' became my instant favourite !! It has a wonderful blue and pinkie hue to it which is extremely pretty on the Selkirk Rex coat. I bred my own Blue Golden Selkirk last year albeit a variant but she was and still is one of the prettiest kittens I have ever bred. Amazolou Evanescense now lives with good friend Anne Minshall and works along side her Selkirk breeding program.

TICA RW CH Insider Constantin Gusev Van de Pronske Schonen

In mid 2008 a friend of mine Tracy White mentioned that she would be importing a
would then be able to sire some of the UK's first Blue Golden British Kittens.
It transpired that Tracy then was offered the Sire of this kitten which was a Blue
Golden boy himself; Gusev is from the Belgium Cattery Sundust. This is a small cattery
totally committed to the progression of the dilute gene in both Tippies and Golden
British. Just what we were looking for.
Zoom forward to April 2009 and
we have just completed our round
trip to Belgium to go and collect 2
year old Gusev. All 683 miles.
It was wonderful to meet Gunther
and his family of cats and humans.
With the arrival of Gusev in the
UK this starts off a shared breeding
program between Tracy White of Tyranite British, Anne Minshall of Acozni and
myself with the full intention of getting the Blue Golden colour, plus any other Golden
and dilute Tipped to Championship status with the GCCF.
All these differing colours of British are already recognised by most International Cat
registering bodies i.e. TICA, Fife and CFA.
To widen the gene pool we will also brought in 3 Blue Golden girls from the Old
Possums cattery in Dorset. These kittens are from imported British from the the
popularity of the colour in the UK.
Also brought in from Old Possums is
Rufus, a gorgeous Golden Shaded boy
from continental lines with that lovely
continental Golden colouring.
Stage one: Get the GCCF to recognise that
there is such a colour in the British
Shorthair? No mean feat!! This will take
the support of an affiliated cat club to the GCCF plus the British Shorthair Breed
Advisory Committee. This is all in motion and we hope that there will be news during
2010 on how this is moving forward.
In the mean time we will be able to show these lovely cats in both TICA and Fife shows
throughout their time with out GCCF recognition.
Keep checking here for our progress!!!

If you are looking into joining us in gaining Championship recognition for the Blue Golden British with the GCCF and possibly importing a cat to add to the gene pool, then you can't go wrong with the information the breeders and organisations below have or please contact me for a chat:

Old Possums Rufus at 8 months
Gusev also mated Steelaway Sunrise & Steelaway Sunshine in 2010 producing
9 kittens amongst them, although these kittens weren't visual Blue Goldens
they all carry the valuable dilute gene. Two of these kittens were Golden
shadeds like the little girl photographed to the right. All kittens now have new
homes.
November 2010 Update:
GCCF now recognise the breed number 75a to be able to register the kittens
with them, so just waiting for the pink slips to come through. Still a long way to
get the breed recognised for showing purposes, but it's one small step closer.
January 2011 Update:
Munchkin is calling again so we have put her back in with Gusev with fingers
firmly crossed for another lovely litter of babies this year.
