| Our aim is to have kittens that meet the Standard of Points here in the UK, although the Selkirk's have Intermediate levels of the GCCF showing requirements. Once 15 cats were awarded their 4 Merit certificates the breed was then elevated to the Intermediate Certificate. Again a certain number of cats approx 20 must all gain 3 IC's for recognition. Thus elevating the breed to the championship level. This process was completed on August 9th 2008 at the Chester & North Wales show when we managed 23 cats with 3 IC's. The Championship Progression document went in to the GCCF the following week and now we are waiting for news of it's acceptance in the October Council meeting. Once accepted the Selkirks will be able to compete for title awards from June 1st 2009. All Selkirk's and associated breeding partners must be PKD Negative tested to be allowed on the breeding programme. We may sell for Show / Breeding a select few kittens each year. If you are interested in a kitten in a particular colour or coat length please feel free to contact us and we will place you on our waiting list... |
