A handsome kitten. He has a good broad head, medium sized broad based ears, nicely furnished and settling into place. Good, round well opened eyes. Nicely rounded forehead, good medium width to his muzzle with rectangular effect. Good width to his cheeks. His nose is short and broad with a downward slant. Good chin and a level bite. Good strong, rectangular body standing on medium length well boned limbs, round paws and a medium length thick tail. Good thick coat standing away from his body, soft and plush with plenty of loose curls including along the length of his tail and his underparts.

Show Report:

1 ST CC & BOB AMARILLI’S AMAZOLOU SNICKER DOODLE [SRS ns11] M 21/08/24 Young male. Lovely broad rounded head wider than it is deep. Well set medium sized ears which are broad at the base, good width apart and fit into the rounded contours of his head. Large round bold eyes. Short nose. Well defined rectangular matchbox muzzle clearly visible beyond the cheeks when viewed from above and face on. Well padded pronounced whisker pads. He has a typical Selkirk look. His bite is just about acceptable. Strong deep chin. Excellent boning to his body which although weighty lacks substance today. This I suspect is due to his age and time of year. He stands on short strong legs and large round paws. Balanced tail covered in tight curls. His coat is a really good length for a SH. His body is covered in lovely tight curls which are soft and plush and stand away from his body. One of the nicest SH coats I’ve seen for quite a while

1 ST CC & BOB AMARILLI’S AMAZOLOU DARLIN [SRL g03 22] F 12/07/24 Dainty female. Nicely rounded head just about wider than it is deep. Medium sized ears which are well set into her head and good width apart. Her eyes could be bigger but they are round and well opened. Short nose. Her muzzle could be more defined but it is rectangular in appearance and when viewed from above is visible beyond the cheeks. Whisker pads are well padded and fairly pronounced. Level bite fair chin. Her body is finely boned as one would expect of a silver. She stands on short slender legs and small paws. Balanced tail well furnished with loose waves. She is not in full coat at present and it is more wave than curl but it does stand away from the body and is plush and soft. She has some curl on her tummy and chest but her ruff is a work in progress. A sweet girl.

Show Report:

1 ST CC & BOB W/H AMARILLI’S BURLEAWAY BONFIRE HEART [BSH ny12] F 17/08/24 Dainty female. Nicely rounded head. Medium sized ears which are wide at the base but well set good width apart. Round eyes of dubious colour. They were not green but they were not gold. Moderately short nose. Round cheeks. Level bite fair chin. Her body is finely boned and she stands on slender legs and round paws. Balanced thick tail. Her coat is long and soft and her tipping is very uneven in that not every hair appears to have tipping. I think if her coat was shorter it would not look the same. Her eyes and coat my reason for not awarding the certificate.

Show Report:

1 ST CC & BOB W/H AMARILLI’S BURLEAWAY BLUE LIGHTENINGBOLT [BSH ay12] M 23/09/24 Feminine looking boy. Round head. Neat ears well set good width apart. Round eyes which unfortunately are not the correct colour. They are gold with a very slight green rim. Moderately short nose. Full cheeks. Level bite fair chin. He is only eleven months and this shows in his body. It is fairly well boned but lacks the substance that maturity brings. He stands on short legs and round paws. Balanced tail. His coat is short with a pleasing texture. His beige mushroom undercoat is a little cool toned and he has medium blue even tipping. His eye colour my reason for withholding the certificate.

1CC BOB MISS Z AMARILLI’S AMAZOLOU DARLIN (SRL g 03 22) F 121/7/24 – Registered as a Blue Tortie and White but in my opinion should be a Blue Tortie Shaded Silver and White. Good muscular torso with cobby conformation. Head is broad and well rounded. Ears are medium in size and set nicely apart. Round eyes set wide apart. Nice profile with nose medium in length with a downward slant. Muzzle needing a little more padding and width. Good bite. Dense coat that was even in length over the entire body and standing well away. The rexing is developing well especially around the neck and on the tail and legs and coat is a lovely soft texture. Tail thick and medium in length. A very promising young lady.

Awarding Judge Mr G Gow

Show Report:

A very well grown 4 month and 1 day old Blue Golden Tipped Shorthair Selkirk Rex lad of overall excellence and showing so much promise of things to come! Head rounded shape and of very good breadth for age with cheeks still to develop. Ears medium size with a broad base, set well apart and fitting neatly into the contours of the head. Profile developing well with a gently rounded brow, gentle nose break and short nose, level bite and firm chin. Muzzle of medium width still to develop whisker pads and padding – but exactly what I’d expect in a lad this age. Eyes of good size, round and set well apart. Excellent chunky little body with stout legs, he needs to grow into his tail which is a tad long at present. Excellent short dense coat standing out from the body and already showing clear evidence of loose curls and waves. This little lad has a wonderful temperament and amazing confidence - he really enjoyed the attention! Shown in excellent condition and well presented. This little chap shows immense promise and got my Judges Choice rosette, needless to say he well deserved the KC and BoB! I will watch his progress with great interest and hopefully will meet him again in the future

Awarded Grand Champion Certificate (2)

First in Blue British Male Class & Best of Breed

Awarding Judge Mr R Davies

Show Report:

Grand – 71 Lee’s CH AMAZOLOU PORTOBELLO BLUE, (BSH a), M. 30.04.2021 – A substantial, well grown male approaching four years, showing strong bone and pleasing overall type. His head is broad across the top with neat, well-set ears and full cheeks. The nose is short and broad, chin has good depth, and the bite is level. Eyes are round and well set, a clear gold, though could ideally be a deeper shade. His body is big and cobby, muscular and low on the leg, with well-boned limbs and rounded paws. Tail is thick at the base and of balancing length. Coat colour is a mid-toned blue that pales slightly to the root. The coat is fairly short and has decent density with a texture that is fairly crisp. A little shy and reserved this afternoon, but he handled well and with gentle encouragement showed himself nicely. Worthy of the certificate.
