| 22nd November NEC Birmingham We had a fabulous day at the NEC this Saturday. I look forward to the Supreme Cat Show more than Christmas nowadays, how sad is that?? We decided to have a mini celebration as the Selkirk Rex breed have now gained Championship from June 2009 so went OTT with PINK on the stall, including pink champagne for guests and pink sweeties, pink balloons and lights. All resulting in a very 'loud' stall! You couldn't miss us? All day we had visitors crowded round the kittens on exhibition and selling plenty for the club funds as well. | This long weekend was taken up with driving over to Belgium to meet Heike from 'Insiders' Cattery to collect our new boy 'Insiders Constantin'. Anne Minshall kept me company all the way and acted as official translator, although it still didn't mean that we received what we ordered in the restaurant? Heike had suggested we meet her half way instead of driving all the way to Germany as the route would be easier for us which was great, plus we could visit a European based TICA show at the same time and meet up with some show friends. It was still a 705 mile round trip though! Heike was showing her Red Tabby boy Waldemar and Gunner, a Silver shaded and white kitten as well as Constantin as a young adult. Constantin didn't final in any of his rings as he was against some beautiful big long haired adults and only just a baby himself. We had a great trip home and even had the Euro Tunnel Train to ourselves!! Thanks Anne for coming along and the great company :-) Right: Anne with the official route book :-) |
